Additional charges filed on Brookville man as a result of search warrant

Kevin Pflum, 44, of Brookville, was charged on Feb. 13 with Operating a Vehicle as a Habitual Traffic Violator-When Defendant's Driving Privileges are Suspended. As a result, an arrest warrant was issued and served on Feb. 16. During the arrest, Pflum was found in possession of a substance suspected to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Deputies then applied for and received a search warrant for the residence. During the search of the residence, deputies seized additional methamphetamine and other drugs and drug paraphernalia. Deputies also seized 17 guns as a part of their investigation.
Upon completion of the investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff's Department, its findings were turned over to the Franklin County Prosecutor's office, which subsequently filed the following six charges against Pflum:
•Count 1 - Possession of Methamphetamine (L5)-Knowingly or intentionally possess methamphetamine, pure or adulterated; that the amount of methamphetamine involved was at least five grams.
•Count 2 - Possession of Altered Firearm (L5) - Knowingly or intentionally possess a handgun: black, "Bailkal" handgun, Revolver, no grip and Colt. 45 revolver.
•Count 3 - Maintaining a Common Nuisance (L6) - Knowingly or intentionally maintain a building, structure, or vehicle maintained for unlawful use, manufacture, keeping, sale, delivery, or financing the delivery of controlled substances or items of drug paraphernalia.
•Count 4 - Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor)
•Count 5 - Dealing in Marijuana (Class A Misdemeanor)
•Count 6 - Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor)
In addition to the above charges, Pflum is facing two other felony charges as a result of an arrest on Feb. 11.
Level 5 felonies carry the potential of 1 to 6 years' imprisonment (advisory sentence of 3 years).
Level 6 felonies carry a sentence of 6 months to 2 ½ years' imprisonment (advisory sentence of 1 year).
