CPD asks for prayers for officer

The Centerville Police Department released the following statement regarding tragedy on Friday, April 28 when one of its officers lost his son in an accident:
“It is with heavy hearts that we report that Officer Husted was involved in an off duty recreational vehicle accident resulting in the loss of his son Rowan,” the statement read. “Officer Husted was injured as well and is currently recovering at home with his family.
“The Centerville Police Dept. is a family and when one of us or our families are hurting, we all hurt. We would appreciate all your prayers for Officer Husted and his family during this difficult time and the days ahead.
“We would also like to thank the Abington Fire Dept, Centerville Fire/Rescue, Reid Health Ambulance Medics, Reid Health ER staff, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Dept, the Union County Sheriff’s Dept, the Indiana State Conservation Officers and the Richmond Police Dept and Reid Health Police. A very special thanks to Officer Hampton for his efforts to help, going above and beyond to assist a fellow officer. Also our Dept. Chaplain Rev Martin Holman. We apologize if we missed anyone as it is not intentional.”
