By Cassie Garrett-

Looking for fun date night entertainment or an engaging outing with the whole family? Sweet Axe Escape from Harrison, Ohio is coming to Brookville within the month. The sport of axe throwing has become increasingly popular in recent years. This activity involves throwing an axe at a target and trying to hit as close to the bullseye as you can.

Cheryl Boggs, co-owner of Sweet Axe Escape, is currently hard at work to get the new location up and running as soon as possible. She says, “We’re trying to make the experience more user friendly at this location.” For those worried about the dangers of axe throwing, Cheryl assures that the activity is very structured. There is an instructor on site to teach players how to properly throw the axe and which techniques to use to make the tool stick. As long as your age exceeds over eight years old, you are welcome to come experience the excitement of the sport.

Sweet Axe Escape in Brookville will be open on Fridays and Saturdays with the possibility of Thursday hours. During the week, groups can play by appointment only, such as for birthday parties, clubs, team building, etc. Cheryl even hints at the idea of a possible axe throwing league.

“Anybody is invited to stop in (second floor of Third Place) to see how it works, and we’ll give a demonstration to see what it’s like!” Cheryl offers. Be sure to check Sweet Axe Escape’s Facebook page for updates.
