Liberty resident Richard Brewer, 83, died Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Reid Health in Richmond.

Richard was born to Arthur and Beatrice Shephard Brewer on February 5, 1940, in Connersville. He attended Short High School, graduating with the class of 1958. After high school, Richard enlisted with the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country, while being stationed in Japan. Richard was a member of the Moose Lodge in Connersville and the American Legion. He was an avid card player, visiting the VFW once a week to play cards with his fellow servicemen and friends. Richard was a man of many interests with a passion for reading. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Richard is survived by several generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his brothers: Billy “Bill” Brewer and Gerald Brewer; sister: Betty Jean Brewer.

A graveside service will be conducted on May 19, 2023, at Dunlapsville Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Showalter Blackwell Long, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty has been entrusted with arrangements.
