Shirley Jean Rowe

Shirley Jean Rowe, 82, of Liberty, passed away peacefully on Saturday September the 2nd, 2023.

Shirley was born on January 10, 1941 in Grays, Kentucky to Samuel and Katie Ray Berry. Shirley was a very devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandma, friend, and caregiver. Shirley spent 43 years working as a Certified Nursing Assistant and took great pleasure in helping others. Shirley enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and any stranger who walked up to her. Shirley was one who appreciated all the small things, like drinking coffee on the front porch, talking to anyone on the phone, and loved to clean and cook. 

Those left to cherish her memory include son Todd Gray of Liberty; daughter Wendy (Harold) Blanton of Liberty; brother Ronnie (Linda) Berry of Somerset, Kentucky; sister Joanne of Somerset, Kentucky and brother Sam Berry of Somerset, Kentucky. Grandchildren Susan (Wally) Zwierlein, Brandi (Mark) Reece, Perry Lear, Rodney Gray, Ryan Gray, Valerie Blanton, Vanessa (Ryan) Bolser, and Kyle Lewis with many great and great-great grandchildren and numerous others she has met, loved and took in as her own throughout the years. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Bill, Bob, and Don Berry; sister, Inez; three husbands Perry, Gale, and James; daughter, Vicky Lear; son, Jimmy Gray; grandson Chad Gray, and many other loved ones who were close to Shirley's heart. 

Shirley was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She opened her heart and home to many children over the years and she will be sorely missed. 

Friends and family may gather at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N Main, Liberty, on Friday September 8, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.  Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Debbie Berry Musgrove beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Earlham Cemetery.
