Franklin County girls tennis made quick work of Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference foe Rushville April 13 on the road.

Winning every set on both the varsity and junior varsity levels, the Wildcats won 5-0 and 4-0.

Allie Routh claimed a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles and Elise Klei took a 6-0, 6-1 decision on the second court. Kacie Williams won 6-0, 6-2 at 3 singles.
In doubles action, Rae Ertel and Grace Roth secured a 6-3, 6-1 decision in the No. 1 position while Nicole Mears and Kaylin Knapp cruised 6-0, 6-1 in the second spot.

Chloe Cowen (8-0), Regan Barker (8-3) and Lola Mann (8-2) won in JV singles, with Halee Barker and Katherine Apsley taking an 8-1 pro set in doubles.

FC then defeated host Batesville 3-2 Thursday on a chilly evening.
The Lady Bulldogs picked up wins at No. 2 and 3 singles. Sophomore Summer Ratcliffe posted a 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 6-1 win over Elise Klei at No. 2, while Chloe Saler notched a 7-5, 6-0 victory over Williams.

A third match went to a third-set tiebreaker to determine the final team score for the night. Betsy Harmeyer, a senior, battled Routh at No. 1 singles; she won the first set 6-4 but lost the second 6-2. Routh won the third set 7-6, easily taking the tiebreaker 7-1.

The No. 1 doubles team of Cayman Werner and Laney Walsman lost to Ertel and Roth 7-6 (8-6), 6-1. Kayla Stone and Cara VanSickle were defeated 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 by Knapp and Mears.

Cowen, R. Barker and Mann won traditional singles sets in reserve play and H. Barker and Apsley again won in doubles.
The Shelbyville Invitational is Saturday.
