The Union County boys and girls track and field teams have completed four meets so far this season - a tri-meet at Lincoln with Winchester; a tri-meet at Monroe Central with Union City; at Centerville and a home tri-meet with North Decatur and Hagerstown.

UC athletes performed well from the very beginning and continue through the season.

UC first place honors in the tri-meet at Lincoln were Kalin Baumbauer in the 100 and 200m dashes, Emma Cox in the long jump, Libby Page in the high jump and the 400m relay team. In the boys events, Logan Harris was top dog in the 100m dash, Bradley Meadows in the high jump and Reece Watterson in both the shot put and discus throws.

At the second tri-meet at Monroe Central, more UC athletes finished at the top. Peyton Torres-Cruz was first in the 110m hurdles, Meadows won his second straight high jump, Watterson won the discus and Caden Coffman came in first in the 400m and 200m dashes.

The girls continued at the top, too. Kaleah Louden won the 100m hurdles, Haley Alcorn took the long jump, Lillian Fields was first in the high jump, the 400m and 1600m relay teams collected blue ribbons and Baumbauer won the 100m and 200m dashes.

At Centerville, Meadows led the boys with a blue ribbon in the high jump and Baumbauer (110m), Priscilla Kelly (800m) and Page (high jump) led the Lady Patriots with blue ribbon performances.

Back home at the first home track and field meet, Union County honored teammate, Zora Allstatter, before the track events began.

Harris (long jump) led the Patriots boys with a first, and Kelley (1600m), Carly McCashland (400m) and the 1600m relay team captured first place finishes to lead the Lady Patriots.

Next meets
The UC track and field teams are at the Northeastern Invitational on Friday, April 30 and the TEC meet on Tuesday, May 13. Go Patriots!
