John E. Drew, 76, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021. John was born on May 24, 1945, and is the son of the late John D. Drew and Louella Hamilton Drew.

On April 7, 1967, he married Jean (Lanning) Drew in Connersville.

John served five years in the Indiana National Guard from 1963 until 1968. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family at his local VFW Post #571 and the Connersville Eagles, to which he visited every day. John also belonged to the Brookville American Legion Post #77. John dedicated over 38-years to Connersville Utilities where he worked in the service building, retiring in 2007.

John loved to spend time outdoors. Anytime of the year, you could find him fishing, hunting, or mushroom hunting. He also liked to spend time riding his motorcycle and working sudoku puzzles when he was indoors. In his younger years, John enjoyed restoring cars.

Along with his wife, Jean, he is survived by two sons, John E. Drew Jr and Jerry Wayne (Connie) Drew; a daughter Sherri (Jeff) Randall; two brothers, Jerry and Jimmy Drew; four sisters, Mary (Rick) Durham, Virginia “Jenny” (Loyd) Griffin, Carol (Eric) Hultberg, Bonnie (Marty) Nistler; seven grandchildren, Jerrie Breanne, Kyle, Josh, Nicole, Natasha, Christopher and Megan; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by two Brothers, Robert Drew and James Drew; three sisters, Ethel Meadows, Phillis Meeks, and Sharon Bauer; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation for John was held on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th St. Connersville, IN. The funeral service was officiated by Rev. Larry Wadle.
