Goldie M. Jones Patterson, 85, of Connersville, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021 at Heritage House Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Goldie was born to James A. and Betty Hampton Jones on Aug. 1, 1936 in Liberty. She attended and proudly graduated from Union County High School. Goldie married Carrol B. Patterson in Richmond on May 19, 1956; together they spent 40 years before his passing in 1996. She told people her favorite days were the days her children were born; Goldie enjoyed being a homemaker. In her earlier days, she was on a bowling league. Goldie enjoyed reading, watching television, meticulously tended to her flowers, and feeding the birds that would visit her garden. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Goldie is survived by her son: Carrol Patterson and his wife Jenny of Connersville; sister: Nancy “Joan” Franklin of Liberty; grandchildren: Missy Briar, Jamie Jobe, Heather Bath, and Chris Purcell; great-grandchildren: Jared Jobe, Maddie Baudendistel; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Goldie is preceded in death by her daughter: Debra Lynn Patterson; brother: Elmer Jones; sister: Mary Etta Jones.

A funeral service was held at 12 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Jay Rowe officiating. Friends visited the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to The American Heart Association in Goldie's honor.
