Dirt track fans were treated to not one, but two, of the largest purse races for Sprint Cars so far this summer. Last year’s race was canceled, so both the 37th & 38th Annual King’s Royal features were run Saturday night in Rossburg, Ohio.

World of Outlaws driver Tyler Courtney didn’t drive like it was his first time in the Kings Royal, as he pocketed a check for $175,000. He led a majority of the 38th Kings Royal to hold off David Gravel’s last lap effort to pass him on the outside. Gravel would later be disqualified for his car being underweight at final inspections.

1. #7BC Tyler Courtney(Clauson/Marshall) 2. #48 Danny Dietrich 3. #39 Daryn Pittman 4. #17B Bill Balog 5. #17 Sheldon Haudenschild
NASCAR driver Kyle Larson took the checkered flag and wore the crown as winner of the 37th Kings Royal, but only after permission from his boss Rick Hendricks, who agreed to have a plane ready to get him back to New Hampshire for his Sunday NASCAR cup series race. After starting 9th, Larson edged his way through traffic and made his way to the lead by lap 20; he held on for the last 20 laps to take home the victory and a check for $175,000. This was Larson’s 22nd World of Outlaws feature win, but his first Kings Royal victory.
