Hagerstown and Centerville battled each other for top team champion honors in the Tri-Eastern Conference meet at Hagerstown last week.

The Hagerstown boys and Centerville girls are the 2021 TEC team champions again. The Tigers won the title a full 74 points ahead of second-place Centerville.

The teams were reversed in the girls events with Centerville beating Hagerstown 130-108.5 in team points.

The young and few in number Patriot boys’ eighth-place finish (43 pts.) was highlighted by Reece Watterson’s personal best in the discus! Not only was it his personal best, but THE BEST of 18 entries!

The 2021 TEC Discus Champion threw 123’02” to out-distance the 122’07 mark of Union City’s Tabius Reagan in second place.

The Patriot boys also placed in the top five in three other events.
•Luke Paddock-3rd, 400m dash; 4th place 4x400m relay; 4th place 4x400m relay).
•Caden Coffman-4th place 4x400m relay team; 4th place 4x800m relay team.
•Jack Hodgkin-4th place 4x400m relay team.
•Braydon Reiboldt--4th place 4x400m relay team; 4th place 4x800m relay team.
•Bradley Meadows-4th place 4x800m relay team.
The IHSAA boys track sectional is Thursday, May 20 (today) at Connersville. Regional qualifiers will compete at Warren Central on May 27.
Union County’s Lady Patriots placed fifth as a team with 12 top five performances.

•Carly McCashland-4th 400m dash; 3rd 4x400m relay team.
•Emma Townsend-5th 400m dash; 4x800m relay team.
•Priscilla Kelley-5th 3200m run; 3rd 4x400m relay team, 4x800m relay team.
•Kaleah Louden-4th 100m hurdles; 5th 300m hurdles; 4x100m relay team.
•Rylee Seal-4th4x100m relay team.
•Kelly Bruns-4th 4x100m relay team.

The IHSAA girls track sectional was Tuesday, May 18 at Connersville.
The top three winners in all individual events and relays advance to the IHSAA girls regional at Franklin on Tuesday, May 25.
