Union County needed four sets to get the win at Franklin County, but three sets were enough to get the job done at Randolph Southern.

The Lady Patriots lost the first set to the Lady Wildcats, 25-22, but came back strong to win three-in-a-row, 25-18, 25-12, 25-14, and the match, 3-1.

Franklin County opened Senior Night with a 25-22 set win over Union County’s short but scrappy team. The Patriots were still minus front row players who add height to the line-up.

“It has been fun to see the team fight and work through all the challenges of the last few weeks,” UC coach Allison Kassens said.

The Lady Patriots took over the second set from the beginning when Carly McCashland served up a 6-0 to start. Then at the end of the first rotation, Kasey Lang pushed UC ahead , 17-10, with a string of six good serves. Union County rode out the rest of the match to win, 25-18.

UC went on to win the next two sets, 25-12 and 25-14 and win the match, 3-1.

At Randolph Southern two days later, Chloe Greene and Autumn Cantrell led UC with 6 and 5 kills and Lang was all over the court with 3 kills, 6 aces, 14 digs and 13 assists to win in three sets.
