The Cross Country Tri-Eastern Conference meet at Union City’s Harter Park featured both middle school and high school teams and special recognition of senior runners at the awards program. Union County senior Jack Dodd was among the 22 TEC seniors recognized.

This year was the year for Union County Middle School Cross Country teams. The UCMS boys were runners-up to Centerville but finished ahead of Northeastern, Tri, Hagerstown, Winchester, Lincoln and Union City.
The second-place team finish was led by Tanner Paddock, who completed the course in 12 minutes 25 seconds, well ahead of three eighth grade runners in second, third and fourth places.

Sixth grade runner, Griffin Overholt, finished 12th, Jackson Robbins 13th, Easton Baumbauer 20th and Christian Franklin rounded out the top five UCMS placings.

Northeastern was first in the middle school girls team standings, Centerville second, Winchester third and UCMS fourth. Lillian Goecke finished in sixth place and followed by Haleigh Buttery, Melanie Goecke, Kelsey Dare and Natalie VanWinkle.

UCHS
The high school Lady Patriots placed fourth with Marissa Young at the top of the UC girls in 14th place. Johannah Nelson and Haley Alcorn challenged each other throughout the 5,000-meter course and finished in a near tie at the finish line. Ryan Story and Juliana Goecke completed the top five UCHS girls.
Northeastern earned the boys TEC title with five runners finishing in the top 14 places. Centerville senior Mylan Nocton was the race winner in 16:51.
Union County junior Bradley Meadowsled the Patriots (20:53), Jack Hodgkin (21:27), Landon Pearson (22:14), Logan Boone (23:30), Landen Klingman (24:33) and Jack Dodd (27:31).
