David was born on August 25, 1964 in Batesville as the son of Roy and Ada Griffin.
David was a lifelong member of New Point Baptist Church. After high school, David went on to be a truck driver. He drove trucks for several years until his health did not allow him to. David enjoyed many things in life. He loved being a comedian and picking at people. He never did it out of meanness, he had a big heart and if he was picking on you it was out of love. David still had a love for his boyhood town, Brookville, and would go out of his way to get a pizza from his favorite pizza joint, Pizza Pete. David wouldn't be himself without his Pizza Pete pizza, a Mt. Dew, and a cigarette. Though David enjoyed all these things in life, what he adored the most was his family and grandchildren. David will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his wife of 8 years, Amanda Griffin; his mother, Ada; children: Heather (Cody Cannon) Griffin, Samantha (Jaime) Murray, Christopher Murray, Charlie (Anisha) Murray; grandchildren: Tatum, Teagan, Daniel, Trevor, Alexis, Chelsie; sister, Sonja (Mike) Shell; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his father, Roy; daughter, Ciera Rose Griffin; aunt, Shirley Houston; uncle, Kenny Caudill; his father-in-law; and his brother-in-laws.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 11 am to 1 pm at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 1pm, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Rossburg Cemetery in New Point.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Foundation. To leave online condolences, please visit www.popfuneralhome.com.
