Union County’s football season came to a close last Friday night in the first round of the IHSAA Class 2A Sectional played at Paoli High School.

The host school turned back Union County, 50-0, to keep their season alive at least for another week. Paoli (6-2) will play 5-5 Providence on Friday, Oct 29.
The Paoli Rams were all business from the opening kickoff until the final seconds disappeared off the clock in the fourth quarter.

Without hesitation, the Rams took the opening kick-off and scored the third of three Paoli touchdowns in the first quarter.

The Patriots couldn’t get anything going against the massive roster led by seniors and juniors. UC possessions were cut short by the Rams’ defense.
A safety early in the second quarter and two additional TDs put the halftime score at 38-0.

Paoli touchdowns in the third and fourth quarter set the final score at 50-0.
UC closed out the season with a 4-5 record and it has been a good season considering Covid cancelled games, quarantines, etc. Thanks Patriots, you weathered the ups and downs and ended up with a solid season.
