Edna was born to Carlton E. and Annie Elizabeth Brooks Thomas on July 24, 1936 in Centerville. She attended Brookville schools, graduating with the class of 1954. Edna married Charles Ford at Calvary Baptist on June 24, 1967. After retiring from Visteon, she started her own company, Another Way Enterprise, using her gifts to help others heal and become healthy. Edna was a herbologist and iridologist. She was also a Fifth Level Reiki Master. Edna was a charter member of Baptist Temple and she sang with the Sweet Adeline’s. She enjoyed mushroom and berry hunting while being one with nature, as well as, staying up late watching movies. She was an avid traveler, visiting at least forty of the fifty states. More than anything, she adored spending time with her family. Edna will be remembered for her abilities to help others and will be missed by all who know and love her.
Edna is survived by her sons: Richard “Rick” Louden and James Ford, both of Connersville; brother, Clyde Thomas of Richmond; sister, Gladys Thomas Boger of Blooming Grove; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her loving husband of fifty-four years, and her parents, Edna is preceded in death by her brother, John Thomas; sisters, Frances Lorene Sexton and Wilma Thomas Lainhart.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021 at Connersville Baptist Temple. Friends may visit Baptist Temple on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 from 4 until 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made out to James Ford or Richard Louden in Edna’s honor.
