Allen was born on October 4, 1936 to Walter and Catherine Minges. After graduating William Henry Harrison High School and he married Gale McDonald.
They were blessed with four children: Allen Jr, David, Nancy and Glen. Allen was a farmer for all of his life. When not in the fields he enjoyed hunting and tending to his cows. He enjoyed his nightly gator drives with his wife Gale to look over the cattle and to take in the beauty of the land.
He left a lasting legacy with is loving wife: Gale (nee McDonald) Minges; dear children: Allen Jr (Cathy), David, Glen (Layne) Minges and Nancy (Randy) Bower; cherished grandchildren: Scott Minges, Carrie (Wyatt) Baker, Andy (Kelly) Donathan, Amber (Kevin) Hensley, Ryan Bower, Zach and Brandon Minges and Drew (Mindy) Bower; great-grandfather of: Cole and Caylee Minges, Abby and Caleb Donathan, Walker Hensley, Emmett, Liam, Scarlett & Raven Baker; brother-in-law of: Mildred Minges & Jerry (Peggy) McDonald. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents: Walter Sr. and Catherine, & 5 brothers: Frank, Leo, Walter, Leonard, & Alford Minges.
Visitation was held on Sept. 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St. Harrison, OH 45030. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; 10010 Carolina Trace Road, Harrison, OH 45030 on Sept. 8. Burial followed at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
