Duane Lafuze

Duane Lafuze, 90, of Liberty passed away on Monday, March 28. He was born on January 5, 1932 in Liberty to Harrison Lafuze and Blanche Leonard Lafuze.
On December 8, 1951, he married the love of his life Sharon Davis in Liberty; together they were blessed with three daughters. They were able to spend nearly 69 years together before she passed on May 14, 2020.
Duane was a member of Hanna Creek Christian Church and Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church.
Duane was a lifetime farmer and for several years he was a representative for Pioneer Seed. He had an Advanced Amateur Radio Operators License.
Duane's hobbies included building electronics, he even built his first ham radio. In the early years of marriage, Duane and Sharon enjoyed boating and skiing and later on time on the golf course. Most importantly, he cherished his family, the time spent with them and watching them grow. Duane was an exceptional husband, father and grandfather; family was everything to him.
Duane will be greatly missed by his daughters, Kathy Roach and her husband, Denny, Jill Pavy and her husband, Marvin, and Annette Franklin and her husband, Jim; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents and his loving wife, Sharon, he was preceded in death by a great grandson, Michael Roach.
Visitation for Duane was held on Sunday, April 3 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N. Main St., Liberty, Indiana 47353. The funeral service began at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Bell officiating. Burial followed in Elkhorn Cemetery.
