The non-profit Adopt-A-Dog in Liberty is hoping their event can lead to increased adoptions of pets in Union County.

They are hosting a "Camp In Adoption Event" where a tent will be set up and volunteers will be at the shelter every day from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. starting April 20.

"We want to get more dogs adopted and right now we have 12 in our shelter which really only comfortably holds 7 or 8 dogs," said Adopt-A-Dog President Sarah Koonce.

Two volunteers have committed to camp at shelter and live with dogs until they all get adopted. You can visit dogs anytime during the day with your families. The hope is we get enough families that each and every dog will find the perfect family and get adopted.

"We will stay as long as it takes. You are welcome to come help us with dog baths, training, fun and lots of exercise and cuddles," Koonce added.

The shelter is located at 1583 E. Kitchel Road in Liberty. Adopt-a-Dog is a volunteer run, non-profit rescue dedicated to finding homes for stray and abandoned dogs in Union County.
