Lady Patriots dropped by Blue River

Last Wednesday, the Union County Lady Patriots were outscored 28-15 in the second half of a 49-35 loss to Blue River Valley. It was a one-point game at halftime.
BRV's Maci Chamberlin outdueled UC center Shelby Hill for high-point honors, dropping in 23 points to Hill's double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Katie McCashland finished with nine points for the Pats and Hallie Hughes added four; Ally Gray hit UC's only 3-point shot to end with three tallies as Carly McCashland put in two. Carly McCashland added five rebounds and two assists. Katie McCashland dished a pair of assists as well. Brooke Fields picked up three steals and two assists.
UC (5-7) will be at the Union City Indians' holiday invitational today, Dec. 29. The Patriots open with Fort Wayne Blackhawk at 1:30 p.m. A loss would mean a second game this evening while a win would translate into a morning game Friday (10:30 a.m.) and a final game Friday night to determine placement.
