Gene A. Manuel, age 76, of Laurel, Indiana died Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.

Born January 14, 1946 in Roane County, Tennessee he was the son of the late Huel “Pete” & Bertha A. (Lowery) Manuel.

He was retired, having worked for many years as a well driller, and in construction. In his leisure time he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a daughter, Lavetta Ritchie of Texas, a sister, Rease White; as well as several grandchildren and nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, David and Mark Anthony, three sisters, Nellie Manuel, Effie Frost, and Nancy Melton, as well as two brothers, James Slover and Joe Manuel.

Family & friends may visit from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

His nephew John Frost will officiate the Funeral Services on Monday, February 7, 2022, 1:00 P.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will then follow in Haytown Hill Cemetery in Metamora.
