Franklin County wrestling hosted Milan and South Dearborn last Wednesday. The Wildcats stole the show by knocking off MHS 63-12 and SD by a 49-21 count.

FC tied with Milan in contested matches but benefited from nine forfeit victories. Hayden Newell pinned the Indians' Carson Betz late in period two at 170 pounds. Lendon Sizemore moved up to 285 to earn a 10-4 decision over Landon Stanley. At 138, Ben Maze suffered a pin, as did Kaden Welch at 152. Colin Troyer, Cole Freese, Roger Zurborg, Avery Crouch, Andrew Merritt, Owen Darwish, Breck Bohman, Eric Schwab and Jadon Napier all had their hands raised with walkovers. There was a double forfeit at 220.

The SD match started 12-0 as Zurborg and Crouch won forfeits at 120 and 126, respectively. Merritt battled with Isaiah Otto but fell 5-4 at 132 lbs. Maze earned a second-period pin over Caleb Hughes and Darwish was pinned at 145.

Karter Smith pinned Johan Ludvigsen in period two at 152. Bohman got his pin over Corbin Cassidy at 160 in the opening two minutes. Newell followed with a 12-5 win over Cooper Barker and Schwab took a 20-6 major decision over Clayton Gentry at 182. Napier was pinned in the second period at 195 but Sizemore got those points back with a forfeit at 220. After an FC vacation at heavyweight, the lineup turned around to see Troyer shut out Kaitlyn Fischer at 106 and Freese outlast Jacob Fischer (7-2) at 113 pounds.
