After a terrific 2021-22 season that culminated in an 18-6 record – a school-record win streak of 15 games leading to the most wins ever by a Franklin County boys basketball team – coaches within the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference rewarded the Wildcats when this year's all-conference team was announced.

Senior Chad Cox – the program's all-time leading scorer – received the most votes among the seven opposing coaches for his performance in FC's conference games, putting him as Most Valuable Player over Greensburg senior Colin Comer. Brant Ertel, a junior, earned his first all-EIAC nod by finishing with the 10th-most votes.

Cox averaged 17.1 points per game in-conference, adding 35 rebounds, 22 assists and 11 steals while shooting 56% from the field overall. Ertel put in 10.9 points (13 made threes) while dishing 17 assists and pilfering 13.
Connersville point guard Tobey Billups helped lead the Spartans to a perfect 7-0 conference mark, giving him the third-most votes. Billups and Cox will team up for the IU East Red Wolves next season.

CHS junior Josh Williams was sixth in voting, trailing South Dearborn senior Eli Hoffman and Lawrenceburg senior Jackson Bobo. Junior Ki Dyer of Greensburg was next, followed by SD senior Reese Willoughby and East Central senior Caleb Mergenthal. After Ertel came Batesville senior Thomas Raver and EC senior Jadyn Dennis.

Track and field indoor season – Cox was able to etch his name in the school record books for another venture, field events. At the University of Indianapolis indoor state qualifier event over the weekend, the senior set a new school mark in indoor high jump with a leap of 6-feet-1-inch. He then eclipsed that with 6-3, which puts him in great position to qualify for the indoor state meet held at IU on March 26.

Teammates Christian Stortz and Jacob Schatzle are also new record holders at FC. Stortz ran the 200-meter dash in 23.75 while Schatzle set a new 60m dash time of 7.15 (also ran 7.18) to finish runner-up. Though he couldn't attend, Schatzle also recently qualified for the Nike Indoor Nationals in New York City. The qualifying event was a long jump of 21-5.
