After a 5-3 win over Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference rival Greensburg earlier this month, Franklin County baseball earned a tight 1-0 home win over EIAC foe Lawrenceburg, dropped a one-run rematch at Lawrenceburg Thursday (6-5)

The Greensburg win came in eight innings. Trevor Moizuk (double) had 2 RBI while Adam Daugherty, Sam Westerfeld (double) and Brant Ertel (double) each had one. Avery Harrison added a two-base hit. The win went to JD Stokes in relief after Daugherty tossed seven frames and struck out four.

The Tigers' three runs in the bottom of the fourth Thursday were enough to carry them to victory. Daugherty suffered the loss and Hunter Geis finished on the mound with a pair of clean innings. Chase Burton and Ertel had FC's RBI. Burton's came on a solo shot while Remy Watters tripled (stolen base) and Xander Rodriguez doubled. Devin Fluhmann earned the win for LHS.

Madison put it on the Cats Friday, winning 10-1. Ertel had the lone RBI. Geis had 3 hits and Watters 2. Geis and Kristian Prows stole 1 base each. Stokes took the loss as Burton and Watters also graced the bump.

The Wildcats started Monday evening's game going up 4-0 in the first inning. Burton collected three RBI and scored a run when Moizuk knocked him in with a double. Watters scored in the second inning off a Daugherty single. Another run in the top of the fourth put the Cats up 5-0.  FC scored three runs in the top of the fifth; Franklin County scored when Watters tripled, scoring two runs.  Rushville then answered when Harley Fuller doubled, scoring two runs, and Lincoln Comer singled, scoring another run.

Freshman Harrison started the game for FC. He tossed three scoreless innings before giving up four runs. He collected three strikeouts in his third start. Adam Sizemore started the game for Rushville and went three and one-third innings on the mound. Sizemore whiffed five Cats but gave up five hits and six runs.

Geis took the mound for FC. The senior had a tough outing, allowing eight runs on seven hits. Rushville finished the game when Sizemore's walk-off triple propelled the Lions to a dramatic 11-10 victory in the bottom of the seventh. Geis took the loss. The Cats tallied eight hits in the game. Ertel and Moizuk both collected multiple hits. The loss puts FC at 10-11 on the season and 5-8 in conference games.

The Cats face Rushville again Thursday at home and finish the season Friday against Cambridge City Lincoln. Sectional begins next Thursday where the Cats will go back to Rushville for a third matchup with the Lions in ten days.
