Elwood Baseball Invitational washed out - UC gets 8-6 win

By Vivian Risch-

The Union County baseball team traveled (4 hours) to Elwood last Saturday anticipating good competition at the multi-teams Elwood Invitational. Unfortunately, the weatherman was in charge and had different ideas.

The Patriots and Whitko Wildcats played 5 innings before rain arrived and canceled the invitational. The good news is Union County defeated the Wildcats, 8-6, before the rain came.

UC pitchers John Ridenour faced 12 batters, gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Mathew Wooley had one strikeout.
