Hagerstown boys and girls track & field teams  clearly topped the 2022 Tri-Eastern Conference meet at Knightstown last week. 

The Hagerstown boys finished with 152 and the Lady Tigers 128. Runners-up were Northeastern boys,  120, and Centerville girls 108.

The Union County girls finished fifth and the Patriot boys were eighth. 

The Patriot boys’ eighth-place finish (33 pts.) was highlighted by Reece Watterson who won the discus throwing event for the second year! A year ago, the winning distance was 123’02”. Watterson became this year’s discus champion with 132’04” and 9’ in front of Centerville’s Avery McCoy in second place.   

The Patriot boys’ 4x100 relay team placed fourth – Caden Coffman, Keaghan Coyle, Xander Garwood, Logan Harris.

The IHSAA boys track sectional is Thursday, May 19 (today) at Connersville.

Union County’s Lady Patriots placed fifth as a team with 5 individual champs and 2 relays earning TEC honors in the top five.
