The Batesville Lady Bulldogs gained their first win of the season with a 46-38 victory over the Lady Pats. Union County lost their first game of the season. Both teams currently stand 1-1.

UC came out strong with a  23-9 first quarter lead with 18 points coming from behind the 3-point arc. 

After the break, Batesville returned to hold UC to single digits in each of the final three while posting double digits.

UC’s 14-point first quarter lead was trimmed to a seven points (28-21) at half time. 

Four and a half minutes into the third period, Batesville rallied to tie the score at 28-28 and 32-32 and led by 2 (34-32) after three quarters. 

Then in the final period, there were three lead changes before Batesville went ahead, 39-38, and refused to give it up. 

Final score - 46-38.

Sophomore Alyson Peters finished with 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Lady Dogs.

Sophomore Katie McCashland and senior Brooke Fields paced Union County with 9 and 8 points, respectively. Peityn Gillman was UC’s top rebounder with 6.

Batesville turned back Union County, 33-27, in the junior varsity game.
 

Next Opponents
After hosting Northeastern earlier this week, Union County will entertain Franklin County this Friday, Nov. 18. The Lady Pats are on the road at Oldenburg Academy next week on Tuesday.
