Patriots basketball – scrimmage

The boys basketball scrimmage with the Lawrenceburg Tigers last Saturday gave new coach Bobby Jones a good look at UCHS teams and how they might need to improve.
The scrimmage was a four-quarter affair between varsity teams and one quarter junior varsity with a running clock, substitutions made during dead balls, scores kept but start over each quarter, etc.
The Patriots and Tigers were up and down the court at a fast pace from start to finish. The Tigers outscored the Pats in the first quarter, UC finished on top of the second quarter. The third quarter saw the Pats in front until a the last bucket, and the Tigers took over in the final quarter.
The JV quarter went to Lawrenceburg.
With scrimmage in the books, the Patriots have 2-3 days to prepare for the traditional opening game in the Spartan Bowl on Thanksgiving Eve.
Season opener at Spartan Bowl
The Patriots opened the season at Connersville on Wednesday. Result was not available at press time.
