Champions UC Lady Patriots go undefeated at UC Volleyball Invitational

After falling to North Decatur last week, 3-2, Union County came back three days later to do away with the Lawrenceburg Lady Tigers in the championship match of the 2022 Union County Volleyball Invitational, 25-20, 23-25, 16-14.
The Lady Patriots defeated Jay County 25-14, 25-16; Whiteland 25-9, 25-17, Seton Catholic 22-25, 25-17, 15-10. in the Red Division to reach the championship match.
Lawrenceburg defeated Adams Central 25-11, 17-25, 15-9; Alexandria 25-12, 25-7; Northeastern 25-20, 25-17; in the Blue Division to advance to the championship match.
Sectional starts tonight
The IHSAA Class 2A Volleyball Sectional at Knightstown High School opens Thursday, Oct. 13, (tonight) with Union County taking on Northeastern at 6 p.m.
Knightstown and Hagerstown play the second game at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 and Shenandoah takes on the winner of game 1 at 12:30 p.m. Saturday’s winners play in the championship match at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.
UC Invitational Red Division
Seton Catholic defeated Whiteland 25-18, 25-15.
Union County defeated Jay County 25-14, 25-16.
Jay County defeated Seton Catholic 22-2515-10.
Union County defeated Whiteland 25-9, 25-17.
Whiteland defeated Jay County 24-26, 25-15, 15-11.
Third place - Seton Catholic defeated Adams Central 25-20, 25-17.
