Union County downs Lady Spartans, Falcons in 3 sets

Last week’s battles between Union County and Connersville and Winchester the following night, were short and sweet. The Lady Patriots defeated both opponents in straight sets - 25-16, 25-23, 25-21 at Connersville and 25-18, 25-18, 25-13 the following night at Winchester.
In the Connersville match, Elyse Peters and Bailey Mathews led UC with 14 and 10 kills, respectively. Brooke Fields and Shelby Hill finished with 25 and 24 digs. Hill also made 31 of the team’s 36 assists.
The 3-set win at Winchester set the Lady Pats’ TEC record at 3-0 and a 5-4 overall record.

The Lady Patriots are at Lincoln Thursday, Sept. 8 (tonight), Lawrenceburg Monday, Sept. 12 and return home to host Northeastern Thursday, Sept. 15.
