Union County’s junior varsity volleyball team opened the evening with straight set wins (25-14, 25-7) last week on the road at Cambridge City Lincoln.

It is often difficult playing the Lady Eagles on their home floor due to the tremendous support they receive from their cheer block.

The Lady Eagles’ confidence and cheer block support proved unstoppable. The Lady Patriots never led in the 18-25 setback.

The second set was more give and take with lead changes, more points scored needed to win the set. The Lady Patriots persevered to a 30-28 final score and a 2-1 edge. And then, Union County did what it always does – stormed back to win the match.

UC regained their winning form – good serves, kills, blocks and net play to win the fourth set and the match on a 25-12 victory.

The Richmond Lady Red Devils battled through the first two sets (25-23, 25-21) at Richmond last week. Union County convincingly won the third and final set, 25-15.
