CAMDEN, Ohio - The Lady Patriots picked up a pair of wins on April 8 over Preble Shawnee. UC won the first game 9-6 and clobbered the Lady Arrows in the second game 27-6. In the first contest Bailey Mathews was in the circle for UC and tossed a complete game, picking up nine strikeouts, allowing seven hits, and walking two batters. UC scored in the top of the fourth inning when Harly Pilgrim singled to score AnnaLea Adams, then Pilgim scored on an error. The Lady Pats found themselves down 5-2 after four innings but added two more in the fifth with Natalie Long and Ally Gray scoring for UC. The Lady Pats' bats got hot in the top of the seventh inning. Shelby Hill cleared the fence with a two-run homer to put UC in the lead 9-5. Shawnee threatened in the bottom of the seventh, but UC held them to one run and escaped. Adams picked up four hits in her four at bats and finished with two RBI. Whitney King went three for four, Gray and Pilgrim both scored twice in the win.

In the second game the Lady Pats went up 4-1 after the first inning with Gray, Adams, Hill, and Pilgrim all crossing the plate in the inning. The Lady Arrows added a run in the bottom of the first. The second inning was more than productive for UC; they put up four more runs before recording an out and put up 11 runs in the inning to go up 15-1. Preble put up three runs in the fourth inning. Mathews knocked in Adams in the top of the fourth inning and UC added 11 more runs in the fifth inning. The scoring started with an Adams double that plated two runs. UC got two more runners on base via walk and Mathews doubled, scoring both runners. A bases loaded walk got another UC run; they scored on an error, several more walks plated runs and Pilgim and Mathews singled back-to-back with RBI. Kaiyd Burroughs was the UC pitcher in the game and finished with five strikeouts in her five innings of work. Mathews had four hits in the game with five RBI; Adams scored six runs and knocked in five RBI on three hits. Gray and Pilgrim both finished with three hits. 

WINCHESTER- UC traveled to Winchester April 11 and came away with an 18-0 win. Mathews pitched a five-inning shutout, giving up three hits, and finishing with six strikeouts in the win. Hill got the Patriots on the board to start the game with a two-run homer in the first inning. Adams picked up two RBI in the second inning on a single that scored Mackenzie Carter and Natalie Long. Then Hill went deep for the second time with a three-run shot that put UC up 7-0. An 11-run fourth frame saw another home run for the Lady Pats, this time from Mathews - a three-run shot. Adams, Gray, Long, and Hill and scored three times in the contest; Hill, Adams, and Mathews all picked up two hits. 

UC improved 7-0 on the season and 2-0 in TEC.
