Union County baseball suffered a 4-3 walkoff loss at Union City in TEC play last Thursday. The Patriots lost a 3-1 lead through 5.5 innings. Eric Burdine and Logan Boone had two hits apiece for the Pats, who totaled six singles. Mason Stewart and Burdine each had a run-batted in. The loss went to Mathew Wooley, who came on in relief of Kyle Sams in the seventh. The Indians' winning run was unearned when Corbin Richards singled with the bases loaded. Sams blew away a dozen of the Tribe's batsmen in his six frames, walked four and surrendered two earned runs.

East Central topped visiting UC Saturday in the first game of a doubleheader, 12-5. The Trojans scored in five of their six at-bats off Wooley and Stewart (L). Seven of EC's runs were earned. Senior Devyn Shepherd tallied three hits and a stolen base. Stewart jacked a home run and drove in three, with Wooley and Boone adding single RBI. Coleton Wicker added a pair of hits and Josh Klein a double.

UC couldn't muster a run in game two, falling 6-0. Landon Cook and Ryan Ott scattered five Patriot singles in the shutout. Burdine took the loss, though just two of EC's runs had been earned. Wicker tossed 1 1/3 scoreless in relief. Stewart led UC with two hits.

The Pats are at Hagerstown this evening.
