Lady Pats ground Golden Eagles, 53-19

The Union County Lady Patriots celebrated Senior Night before a near packed house at Roy E. Stevens Gymnasium last week. And stellar performances by seniors Carly McCashland, Brooke Fields and Shelby Hill ensured a runaway Tri-Eastern Conference victory. Final score was 53-19 at the final buzzer.
A 5-0 start was the first but not the last of UC’s high gear offense and stiff defense. Katie McCashland scored from inside and outside the 3-point arc and five other teammates assisted in running the first quarter score up to 23-2.
Three balls were popular in the second quarter with one from Carly McCashland and three from Katie McCashland. Halftime score stood at 35-9.
Lincoln reached double figures in the third quarter but not enough to catch the Lady Patriots who led 46-16 at the three-quarter break.
The seniors put on a great show in their final game at Union County...
Carly McCashland finished with 8 points, 4 rebounds, an assist, 3 steals and a blocked shot.
Hill followed up with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Fields ended up with 5 points, 4 rebounds, 11 assists and a steal.
UC’s Junior Varsity was a 12-point winner (32-20) over Franklin County’s C-Team.
