Lady Patriots doubled up by Eastern Hancock

The Lady Pats hosted Eastern Hancock on Saturday evening. UC hung with the #9 ranked Lady Royals for the first half of the game. The second half started with Eastern Hancock going on a 14-0 run pulling away for UC to take a 20 point victory.
Aly Gray got the Lady Patriots on the board first and at the end of a low scoring quarter Peityn Gillman connected and gave UC a 6-4 lead. The second quarter netted the Lady Pats just four-points via a Gillman longball and a free throw from Katie McCashland. The Lady Royals added six-points to their total and the game was tied up 10-10 at halftime.
The third quarter saw the Lady Royals score 14 unanswered points and UC didn't grace the scoreboard until the 1:30 mark when Gray dropped in a jumper. Eastern Hancock finished the period with a pair of Freebies and it was 26-12 after three quarters. UC managed nine points in the fourth quarter with Shelby Hill going four of four from the charity stripe and Carly McCashland connected from deep. The Lady Royals outscored UC by six points in the period and took a 41-21 victory.
The UC loss drops Scott Gray's Lady Pats under .500 with a record of 8-9 on the season. The Lady Pats are currently 1-3 in TEC games this season with losses coming from the top three teams. They will look to move from the bottom of the standings with four conference games left to play. Union City (8-11),Knightstown (3-14) ,Cambridge City (4-10), and Centerville (4-8) all have losing records and a sweep would bump UC up to fourth in the TEC.
