The Union County Lady Patriots fell short to non-conference opponent Eastern Hancock, 10-8.

Lead-off hitter Ally Gray was 2-for-3 including a home run, one RBi and scored two runs.

Shelby Hill was 3-for 4 at the plate including, a double, three Rbi,  and scored 2 runs.

More long ball hitters were freshman Carsyn Garrett’s home run and a Harley Pilgrim  triple. 

Bailey Mathews finished on the mound with three strikeouts and 5 walks. 

EH hit four home runs – senior Emma Bolding 3 and junior Brooklyn Willis 1. The Lady Royals scored 10 runs on 8 hits.

UC softball earned another TEC win Tuesday by defeating Cambridge City Lincoln 6-3. Four runs through the first three at-bats held up. Hill, AnnaLea Adams and Gray (triple) each had two hits with Hill knocking in four on a pair of doubles. Mathews drove him the other two. Natalie Long swiped a base. Mathews pitched a complete game with 11 punchouts.

The IHSAA Girls Softball Sectional #41 at Union County (Eastern Hancock, Hagerstown, Knightstown, Northeastern, Shenandoah, Union County) is May 22-27. UC faces Knightstown.
