UC golf preps for sectional

Union County boys golf dropped a 166-200 decision at Connersville last Thursday on the Spartans' senior night. Freshman Trey Hughes was medalist for CHS with 40. The Pats lost the unofficial JV match 227-233.
In a sectional preview match at Richmond's Elks Country Club Friday, the Patriots were 6th with a score of 379 among nine schools. Richmond won with 332.
Connersville won the 10-team UC Invitational Tuesday, carding a collective round of 333. UC was 8th with 371, a stroke back of Franklin County.
UC is back at the Elks Monday, 8 a.m., for sectional.
