Volleyball team suffers sweeps

Wildcat volleyball fell in straight sets in three contests last week. The Cats were dropped by Centerville last Tuesday (25-12, 25-18, 25-13). With Milan visiting Wednesday, FC took a 25-23, 25-19, 25-13 loss to the Indians. Back in conference Saturday, FC fell to the Greensburg Pirates 25-13, 25-7, 25-10.
Coach Jill Mergenthal said the Centerville servers were strong. “We have to communicate better on serve receive and adjust to staying low and moving our feet.
When we lean or break our platforms it makes the 2nd and 3rd hitters work harder. Our practices are focused on passing and anticipating where the ball is at all times.”
Stats: Cydney Morehead 26 assists, 15 digs, 8 kills, 1 ace. Marisa Marshall 2 assists, 30 digs, 1 kill, 2 aces. Chloe Clark 6 assists, 13 digs, 9 kills. Madison Perleberg 5 assists, 4 digs, 5 kills. FC (0-15) stayed in conference against South Dearborn Tuesday.
