Union County cross country traveled to the Randolph Southern Invitational Saturday before hosting the annual Patriot invite Tuesday.
At Lynn, the UC boys were 11th among 11 schools. Freshman Tanner Paddock led the boys' effort in 6th place (17:56), followed by Wyatt Pearson in 65th (22:07), freshmen Christian Franklin and Easton Baumbauer in 84th and 85th, respectively (23:16 & 23:38) and Landon Klingman in 92nd (24:28). Senior Haley Alcorn represented the Lady Pats, placing 40th (25:43). Griffin Overholt was tops for the UC middle school boys, taking 23rd (12:17); for the young ladies, two were in the top 10 – Henley Paddock runner-up (12:50) and Madelyn Carrell 7th (13:30).
Winchester's boys won Tuesday as UC was fourth while on the girls end, the Golden Falcons were the only team with a complete score. Alcorn was 9th (24:53). Paddock finished 2nd to Union City's Conner Walser (17:36 to 18:17); Pearson was 21st (22:31), Klingman 26th (23:49), Franklin 27th (23:52), Baumbauer 31st (24:13) and Isaac Kelley 37th (34:19).
The Centerville Invitational is Saturday.
