On days one and two of camp, the girls learned various routines in different styles including jazz, pom and hip-hop, as well as learning new technique and skills. On night three, they had a crazy night and got to dress up like characters in a musical or Broadway show! These girls had a lot of fun with each other dressing up!
Dancz Catz were lucky enough to have five veteran team members make the All-American Dance Team. On days two and three, these ladies showed up early before all the other dancers and teams to learn six to eight counts of a routine. They then had to create two to eight counts of their own. These girls, if they choose to do so, can travel and perform in a parade and other special events across the country.
Day four was final awards! Each dancer performed a pair of different routines they had learned during camp. These routines were judged by the UDA staff and given a performance ribbon. They also were awarded a superior trophy.
This award is given to teams with the highest ribbon accumulation score.
Dancz Catz received a blue ribbon for their home routine that was performed night one. They had been working on this routine all summer! By receiving the blue ribbon for their home routine and the superior trophy, this qualifies them to compete at the National Dance Team Championship at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida on Feb. 4-6 of next year.
Dancz Catz are so excited to showcase some of these routines at sporting events during this season!
