The Union County girls golf team is off to a good start with a pair of Tri-Eastern Conference wins last week at Winding Branch Golf Course.

Playing in a 3-way meet with Lincoln and Tri High in the opening match of the regular season, the Lady Pats’ 187 beat Lincoln’s 246 and Tri’s incomplete team of three players.

Emma Kassens was medalist at 43. Olivia Curry finished one stroke back at 44. Peityn Gillman had 51, Mady McClure 49, and Morgan Ball 52.
Allison Frost led the Lady Eagles with 50.

Union County hosts the East Central Lady Trojans on Thursday, Aug. 12, at Liberty Country Club.

The Lady Pats return to Tri-Eastern Conference play at Northeastern Tuesday, Aug. 17.
