Lady Pats Basketball– Fall to Tri High

Tri improved to 8-2 and 4-0 in the Tri-Eastern Conference. Union County is now 5-3 and a 1-2 TEC mark.
Union County struggled through the first three quarters before the offense picked up in the final eight minutes. A first quarter tie score (2-2) led to Tri going ahead, 14-6, at halftime and 23-8 at the three-quarter stop.
Then, in a complete turnaround, the Lady Patriots’ offense returned in the fourth period to outscore Tri, 15-10, but it wasn’t enough. The Lady Titans’ 33-23 victory kept their TEC slate clean with a 4-0 record to date.
Tri finished with two double-digit players. Junior Abi Clarke led with 15 points and 8 rebounds, and freshman Kenley Cornelius added 10 points.
Lauren Alldredge and Brooke Fields led the Lady Pats with 8 and 6 points, respectively.
UC reserves
The JV Lady Patriots and Lady Titans played to a 2-2 tie score in the first quarter and 10-10 at halftime. UC out-scored the Lady Titans, 13-9, after halftime to lead, 23-19, at the three-quarter break and 33-23 at the final buzzer.
