Freedom Run returns on July 3

Race date is Saturday, July 3, at the Union County Courthouse in downtown Liberty.
The challenging foot race from downtown Liberty to downtown Brownsville begins at 8:30 a.m. on the corner of Union and Market Streets for walkers and runners including a Clydesdale division. The race route continues two miles on Market St., Turns west on Sycamore St., crosses US 27 and continues on Brownsville Ave. to the finish line.
Age groups for men and women are: 12 and under, 13-15, 16-18, 19-25, 30-34, 35-39, 40-47, 48-55, 56-63, 64-71, 72 and up and a 200 lbs. and over Clydesdale division.
Top five female and male finishers receive trophies and ribbons will be awarded in each age group.
The $20 entry fee includes a T-shirt if registered by June 21. Entry on day of race is $15 and does not include a T-shirt.

The Freedom Run is under the direction of the Union County Chamber of Commerce who has secured Speedy Feet to monitor the race, etc. More information can be found at Speedy-Feet.com. or ucdc.us including a sign up form.
The Freedom Run from Liberty to Brownsville has become a Fourth of July tradition for area running enthusiasts.
Course Records - Anne Clinton, Richmond, Ind. 29 min, 8 sec in 2003 and Jeremiah Vaughn, Brookville, Ind. 24 min, 4 sec in 2010.
