The IHSAA Class 2A Volleyball Regional at Cascade was a heartbreaker.

After advancing with an illustrious 18-8 season record, the Union County Lady Patriots fell to Covenant Christian in four sets at last Saturday’s regional.
The Lady Pats fell to the Lady Warriors, 25-15, in the first set, but turned it around to win the second set, 26-24.

Tied at a set each, Covenant Christian fought back to win back-to-back sets, 25-16 and 25-15, and win the match.

The Lady Warriors advanced to the evening championship match with Western Boone, who defeated South Putnam in the first match of the day. The Western Boone Stars won the regional championship in four sets, 25-19, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19.

Cascade Class 2A Sectional results...
*Covenant Christian defeated Union County (3-1), 25-15, 24-26, 25-16, 25-15.1-29.

*Western Boone defeated South Putnam (3-0) 25-18, 25-10, 25-9.
*Championship - Western Boone defeated Covenant Christian (3-1) 25-19, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19.
