In the first game of the season March 30 at Cambridge City Lincoln, senior Michaela Ferman led FC to a 7-0 victory. Ferman went all seven innings and struck out 13 while allowing just one hit and walking four. The Lady Cats dominated the basepaths, swiping five steals and getting runs from five different players. Ferman also led the team in hits, going three for three in the game.

The first home game for FC was on Friday against the Hagerstown Lady Tigers. Ferman was dominant again from the circle, allowing just one hit while fanning 10 and walking three. The Lady Cats' bats were hot as they put up nine runs through the first three innings. An eight-run fourth inning put FC up 17-0.

Sophomore Kendal Cain closed out the game in the circle and preserved the Franklin County shutout. Kassidy Schell led the way for the Cats' offense, going three for three and scoring three runs. Kensee Ferman and Tiffany Billman also scored three runs each in the contest.

The 2-0 Lady Cats will travel to Centerville tonight as they look to remain undefeated in the early season.
