The Union County Middle School and Northeastern girls track and field teams were runners-up at the 2022 Union County Middle School Track & Field Invitational last Friday night. UC and Northeastern both finished with 88 points and only two points behind first-place Union City’s 90 points.  

The middle school Lady Patriots won four track events (100m hurdles, 1600 meter run, 800 meters, and the 4x200 meter relay.)

UC sixth grader Lillian Goecke won the 800 meter and 1600 meter runs and was a member of the second place 4x400m relay team.

Lillian Hunton won the 100 meter hurdles, was a member of the first-place 4x200 meter relay team and second-place 4x100 meter relay team.

The Patriot boys placed a close fourth to Blue River Valley (72-70) and in front of Benjamin Rush 52) and Knightstown (23).

Eighth graders Nick Watterson and Bo Tidrow cleaned up in the throwing events. Watterson won the shot and the discus. Tidrow was second in the discus and third in the shot put.

Next meets
 The UC track and field teams will compete in the Middle School Track & Field Tri-Eastern Conference meet Friday April 22 (tomorrow).
