The Lady Wildcats took on East Central on the diamond April 18. The conference matchup was a low-scoring game between the two high-powered offenses. Coming into the game, the Lady Cats were averaging 11.4 runs per game through their first seven contests. Payge Callahan of the Trojans produced a walkoff 2-run homer off previously unbeaten Michaela Ferman for a 3-1 EC victory.

Anne Becker drove in Kensee Ferman in the FC second to make it 1-0. M. Ferman continued to deal in the circle, holding EC scoreless through the first four innings on the turf. Starting pitcher Lexi Hatmaker helped herself out with a run-batted in in the fifth to tie the game.

In the top of the seventh, FC was unable to plate a run and the game was still tied. Other than the long ball, Ferman had a good game in the circle; she allowed two earned runs, collecting six strikeouts and giving up five hits. Ferman fell to 5-1.

FC won at South Dearborn April 20, 8-1. The ladies totaled 16 hits and played flawless defense. “KK” Ferman was solid in the circle to get the win, fanning 5 Knights. Kassidy Schell was 4-of-4 as K. Ferman and Brooke Stang had 3 hits (2 RBI, SB) each. Maci Lake and Kiersten Schell (double, RBI) had 2 hits (2 RBI, SB, double) while Bree Bischoff and Josie Rolfes had 1 RBI each.
