The New Palestine Middle School Dragons won the eight-team Union County Middle School Wrestling Invitational last Saturday, Feb. 26, at the UCMS Gymnasium.

NPMS finished with seven champions for a 290 team score. Other participating teams were Eastern Hancock, Milan, East Central, Shenandoah, Richmond, Greensburg and Tri.

Jaxson Rutherford led UC with a first-place finish at 80 lbs.
Noah Reffitt and Waylon Alcorn finished third at 125 lbs. and 132 lbs., respectively, and Chris Crews was fourth at 175 lbs.

The Patriots forfeited 10 weight classes and placed seventh in team scores with 84 points and four individual placers.
